Meet Our Team

Dr. Neil Kelley

Veterinarian & Owner

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Neil Kelley’s parents moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida in his teenage years. After high school, Dr. Kelley joined the US Navy and was a Navy Deep Sea Diver for 21 years, where he served mainly in the special operations community as support for Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Naval Special Warfare. Dr. Kelley was also on a diving and salvage ship, the USS Grapple, as well as a tour at the Naval Medical Research Institute in Bethesda, MD.

After retiring in 2007, Dr. Kelley graduated from veterinary school at Virginia Tech in 2012. He worked at a 2-doctor mixed animal practice in Pearisburg, VA, for one year, seeing mainly cattle and horses but also small animals and ruminants.

In 2013, Dr. Kelley and his family moved back to Tidewater. He is currently practicing in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he has realized his dream of opening an independent clinic that can prioritize the availability of same-day and urgent care. He has been married to his wife, Rae, for 20 years, and they have teenage twins, Brian and Maggie. He and his family currently reside in rural Virginia Beach on a four-acre property with four horses.

Dr. McGrenra

Veterinarian

Dr. McGrenra is a Hampton Roads native who grew up in Virginia Beach. She first decided she wanted to be a veterinarian for career day in preschool and never changed her mind! Dr. McGrenra obtained dual degrees in Biology and Wildlife Science from Virginia Tech in 2011 and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2015. When she returned to Hampton Roads after graduation, she practiced at another hospital in Chesapeake until joining the MyVet team in March 2024. Dr. McGrenra’s favorite part about being a veterinarian is working to strengthen the human-animal bond, but she also loves getting the opportunity to love on all of the Pugs and Bulldogs! Dr. McGrenra shares her home with a crazy black Pug named Mei and a Siamese mix named Gumbo. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family.

Kim strives to ensure every client feels heard and taken care of during each and every visit. Rae Kelley

Customer Service Manager

A native of Philadelphia, Rae began her medical journey as a Registered Nurse for three years before accepting a commission in the U.S. Navy. Her first duty station was at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, and she immediately fell in love with the area. After seven years as a military nurse, Rae lived in TX, NE, then back to VA Beach, where she met the love of her life, Dr. Neil Kelley. They now have 18-year-old twins, Brian and Maggie, two dogs, and four horses. She continued to work in local hospitals as a NICU nurse, and after 34 years as a registered nurse, Rae has transitioned that level of care and professionalism to Veterinary Medicine as co-owner and customer service director for their new practice, MyVet!

Leah

LVT

Leah was born and raised in the thumb area of Michigan. She met her husband, Casey, while she was attending Oakland University for Social Work. After getting married at the end of 2013, her husband joined the Navy and went to flight school to become an E2 Hawkeye Pilot. Leah’s big move out of Michigan led her to switch career paths and pursue a career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Leah graduated, earned her license, and officially began practicing as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in early 2018. They both moved to Virginia when her husband finished flight school in early 2017 and had orders to Norfolk. Since her move to the area, Leah has been working alongside Dr Kelley and Dr McGrenra in Chesapeake. Leah and her husband currently reside in Virginia Beach with their little zoo of cats, 2 dogs, and chinchillas and plan to continue calling Virginia home.

Originally from Ohio, Victoria now lives in Virginia with her husband and their two dogs: a Shiba Inu named Stella Rose and an Australian Shepherd/Catahoula mix named Bailey. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to houseplants, gardening, and reading fantasy books. Her favorite dog breed is the Shiba Inu.

Jasmin

Jasmin was born and raised here in Virginia Beach. She’s always had a love for animals since she got her first pet for her 3rd birthday. After graduating high school, Jasmin started working with various exotic birds and small animals until she decided she wanted to go into the medical field. Her first job in the vet field was working as a kennel attendant in Staunton, VA, at Augusta Valley Animal Hospital. There, Jasmin worked her way up to receptionist and then to becoming a Vet Assistant. After moving back home, she worked in both private and corporate hospitals for the past 15 years. Jasmin loves to focus on maximizing pet comfort while in the clinic. In her free time, she loves to work out, read, and spend time with her son PJ, cat T-Rex, and our Pitbull Diesel.

Sara hopes to make you and your pets feel loved and cared for while working with the best veterinary team in the area.

Maggie

Client Service Representative

Maggie is from the Virginia Beach area and has always loved animals. She was very active in 4-H, and her love of horses led to her participating in hippology and horse bowl competitions and enjoying both Gymkhana and Hunter events. Maggie has two dogs and four horses. In Summer 2024, she finished her legal studies at First Colonial High School and is attending Virginia Tech to continue her studies.

Tiki

Clinic Cat-bassador

Meet Tiki, our beloved clinic cat and self-appointed Chief Feline Officer (CFO)! Adopted from Reba’s Rescue in Chesapeake in December 2023, Tiki has quickly become the heart of our front desk. This sweet feline loves greeting new faces and has a special knack for bringing smiles to our clients. While Tiki’s primary duties involve thorough nap supervision and occasional customer meet-and-greets, she takes her job very seriously. Don’t be surprised to find her stretched out in a sunbeam, keeping a watchful eye on the clinic’s comings and goings. Although she prefers to be the only cat in the spotlight, Tiki has a soft spot for our canine visitors. Next time you’re in, keep an eye out for our furry receptionist – she may be napping on the job, but rest assured, she’s always got everything under control!
